Brief thought on the Law of Attraction and Reticular Activating System
I am extremely conflicted over the Law of Attraction. I think it would be more appropriate to title it the "Theory of Attraction", first off. But, it is, at that, a very paradoxical theory- a complete catch.22. If you believe it, you're going to be put into that state of mind that what you think about will happen. This, in turn, will cause you to subconsciously make actions towards this thought, which you will, believing in the Law of Attraction, attribute to it. If you do not believe in it, you won't get that "advantage" of your thoughts becoming reality. This makes it extraordinarily hard, if not psychologically impossible, to scientifically test or prove. It is a very complex topic, no argument there. The Reticular Activating System (RAC) and Law of Attraction are said to be directly co-dependant with each other. Thus, the law of attraction could not exist without the RAC. I believe that your subconscious mind is purely and wholeheartedly responsible for the manifestation of Cogito ergo sum. You constantly envision something, you set your mind on it, you are bound to take actions towards its attainment, even if they are not conscious. If we can only access .0067% of reality at any given moment (134bps of info out of the 2,ooo,ooobps we are being fed), then is the Law of Attraction just the ability to access more than that .0067%? If we reach a higher consciousness, where we are able to be aware of the unconscious actions and therefore make them conscious and to our benefit? Interesting how the two tie together, the RAC and Law of Attraction, but in the sense of our thoughts as physical waves in the universe acting as magnets to their desires, I do not place my belief of the moment.
